A Web of Air by Philip Reeve

The second thrilling adventure in the Fever Crumb trilogy

Two years ago, Fever Crumb escaped the war-torn city of London in a traveling theatre.

Now, she arrives in the extraordinary city of Mayda, where buildings ascend the cliffs on funicular rails, and a mysterious recluse is building a machine that can fly.

But there is an unknown enemy ready to put a stop to any potential advancement in flight technology.  And just as dangerous, thieves that wish to steal the incredible invention or to destroy the secrets of flight forever.

The sensational sixth book in the Mortal Engines series,
from the brilliant and award-winning Philip Reeve.

Peer & Press Reviews

A Web of Air is an outstanding achievement from a writer with the power to transport youngsters to a fantastical and enthralling world where place and time become irrelevant, conventional boundaries are crossed, good and bad are abstract concepts, and adventure is limitless.  This is children’s writing at its most sophisticated and intelligent…

Pam Norfolk, Lancashire Evening Post

Fever is an engaging heroine, intelligent yet oddly naïve in the ways of life.  Mr. Reeve is a talented world-maker and first-class storyteller.  What more could a reader ask for?
